Hotblack Desiato has been home for the past 19 years out of the 29 years of being an Estate Agent. Having worked in Camden for so long my knowledge of the local area and the cross section of people who reside here is extensive. Everyday throws up something different, whether it is the changes in the economic climate, people wanting honest advise about their property, holding their hands to their next move or where is the nearest nail bar. When I am not at work, I enjoy my holidays in the sun with my family, watching my grandchildren growing, cooking and entertaining.
I am originally from Newcastle but relocated to London over 23 years ago. I obtained my first taste of the estate agency world at the age of 13 on my work experience placement. Little did I know it would be my future career. I have worked in property in Central London for over 13 years now and I still have the passion that I possessed way back then. I absolutely adore meeting new people and I am fascinated by property so working in estate agency is the perfect match for me. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing my clients and customers with a big smile on their faces at the end of a sale. It genuinely gives me a great amount of job satisfaction knowing that I have played a part in helping someone move on with their lives. I also work with a great team who are friendly and also passionate about providing consistently high levels of customer service. In my spare time I like to catch up with friends and family, travelling to interesting destinations and spinning classes.
I moved to London at the age of 18 (originally from Poland) and I have never looked back. I’ve been here for over 12 years now and I consider it to be my home. A year volunteering for the Met Police and achieving my personal liquor license may not seem like the typical background of an estate agent, however , I have found that these experiences have provided me with a blend of confidence and diligence that compliments my position at Hotblack Desiato well. I first joined the Camden branch back in 2011 and I can honestly say that during my time with Hotblacks I had a pleasure of working in all the offices, whether it was covering colleagues annual leave or on a more permanent basis. Last year I decided to leave the property world and explore other carrier paths but soon realised I missed lettings so here I am, back in Camden, where it all started. I really look forward to furthering my career as a lettings manager and all the challenges that will come with it.
It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen when I came into the Islington office to interview for the job with “the head honcho”, “the gaffer”, “el présidente” the distinguished David Pinnick. During our dialogue he discovered that I had previous and varied careers in Media, Education and the Restaurant industry and had recently returned from three months of travel through South East Asia. He seemed to like the cut of my jib and I was employed as a Lettings Negotiator and sent to the Camden Office. I started going into the summer period and it was busy like Wall Street! My love of meeting new people and getting to know our applicants and tenants over the phone and in person has held me in good stead. My favourite part of the job is when going on what I call “road trips” with the car, viewing multiple properties. There are quiet days too, however, there’s never a dull moment in the office with the bunch at Hotblacks. Outside of work I love cooking and eating; this has meant that I have to take part in crazy fads like running and boxing to stay trim, however, I can’t give up eating…my life depends on it so I guess these sporting activities have to continue.
I have lived in Camden for about 18 years now. I also lived in Spain for almost a year with some gypsies…that was an experience. I can speak a bit of Spanish and Indian, and I’m currently learning Lebanese. I’ve been working in property for 10 years and joined Hotblacks property management team about a year ago. Prior to that, I trained as an IT technician – which involved everything from building computers from scratch to teaching adults how to use them. I also studied Cisco CCNA, but got a bit fed up with it all and wanted to try something else. In my spare time I play for a local pool team – we won the league last season and have now moved up to Division One!! I also like camping, sea fishing and cooking. I am by nature a very caring and helpful person. I really enjoy working at Hotblacks, they are a lovely bunch.
